NJ Man Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of Victor Morales, 32, of Saddle Brook, on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that the arrest resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Saddle Brook Police under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain John A. Zotollo Jr.

According to officials, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, the Saddle Brook Police contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding a report of child abuse.

An investigation revealed that Morales physically assaulted a child under the age of 13 years old who was in his care.

Officials said on Tuesday, as a result of the investigation, Morales was arrested in Paramus and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree aggravated assault.

Morales was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, officials say.
