A Dumont resident has been arrested following a joint narcotics investigation that began after suspicious packages were intercepted in the mail, Bergen County authorities announced.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, Rocky L. Labarbera, 45, of Dumont, has been charged with possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute and money laundering.
Prosecutors said the case stemmed from an ongoing drug investigation involving the United States Postal Inspection Service.
During the probe, postal inspectors intercepted two packages shipped from California and addressed to a private residence in Dumont.
Authorities reported that the parcels contained approximately two ounces of suspected cocaine and one ounce of suspected ketamine.
Following the discovery, a coordinated investigation was launched by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Dumont Police Department.
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, law enforcement officials executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Dumont residence tied to the intercepted packages.
During the search, detectives identified Labarbera as the resident and recovered additional suspected cocaine, ketamine, and U.S. currency, according to prosecutors.
As a result of the investigation, Labarbera was taken into custody and formally charged.

Authorities said he was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, appeared in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, and was later ordered released pending further court proceedings.
The investigation remains part of ongoing efforts by county and federal authorities to combat narcotics distribution through the mail system.
