NJ Man Allegedly Used Dating Site to Lure, Rape a Female

New Jersey Cinnaminson Township

Cinnaminson Township officers arrested 22-year-old Jerrell Manson, of Roebling, yesterday and charged him with a sexual assault that occurred on the evening of April 15th.

According to authorities, the victim, a female from Philadelphia, was lured to Cinnaminson, NJ by Manson using the dating site “Plenty of Fish”.

Officials say Manson met the victim in the East Riverton section of town and convinced her to get into his vehicle under false pretenses. Manson then drove the victim to a secluded location and forced her to have sex with him. After the sexual assault occurred, Manson threw the victim out of his car and left her in a wooded location taking her cell phone, keys, and identification.

Police say the victim flagged down a passer-by and called 9-1-1. The victim was then taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Cinnaminson Detective Geoffrey Chiumento interviewed the victim at the hospital and was able to get the location based off her statement. Chiumento responded to the area of Taylors Lane and River Road and was able to locate some of the victim’s belongings that were thrown out of the vehicle by Manson as he fled the area.

According to authorities, officers on April 17th identify Manson through his “Plenty of Fish” profile and lured him to Cinnaminson, believing he was meeting another victim. Once he arrived, he was surrounded by undercover officers and taken into custody without incident. Inside of Manson’s car was the driver’s license of the same victim who reported the assault to police on April 15th.

Officials say Manson is also suspected of another unsolved sexual assault in Edgewater Park from 2018 under similar circumstances.

Manson was remanded in the Burlington County Jail on a warrant awaiting a detention hearing.
