A Middlesex Borough woman who owns a daycare center in Dunellen has been charged after authorities said she allegedly administered melatonin to two young children without their parents’ permission.
According to information released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Cheryl Ambicki, 57, of Middlesex, owner of Precious Gifts Daycare in Dunellen, was arrested following an investigation into the incident.
Authorities said the Dunellen Police Department received a report on July 10 alleging that Ambicki had given melatonin to two children, ages 2 and 4, without obtaining parental consent.
A joint investigation conducted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Dunellen Police Department confirmed the allegations, investigators said.
Ambicki was arrested without incident on July 10 and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
