Newark Woman Wanted for Shots Fired Incident that Injured Man

Police officials in Newark issued a warrant for the arrest of Ms. Crystal Gibson, 42, of Newark, on a charge of Aggravated Assault in an incident that occurred on Saturday, October 20th, 2018.

According to a statement released by police, at approximately 12 p.m., police responded to South 19th Street and South Orange Avenue on a call of an aggravated assault.

Police say responding officers located a male victim who had been shot. The victim arrived at University Hospital for treatment in a private vehicle where doctors treated then released the unidentified male.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Crystal Gibson as a suspect in this incident and have secured a warrant for her arrest.

Police described Gibson as 5’4” tall and 170 lbs. She has a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. She also has a scar on the left side of her face police said,

While police are actively searching for Gibson, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing her from city streets.

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing.
