Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that injured a man in the city’s West Ward on Friday evening.
According to reports, hospital officials contacted police when a male victim suffering a gunshot wound entered University Hospital at around 8:50 p.m. suffering a gunshot wound.
The victim reported to police that the incident occurred in the 30’s block of Melrose Avenue shortly before he arrived at the hospital.
Police are looking into the motive for the shooting.
