Police in Newark setup a crime scene in the area of Lindsley Avenue and Norwood Street where they located several shell casing after an early morning shooting in the area.
Officials at the University Hospital contacted authorities after a victim suffering injury from apparent gunfire entered the hospital's emergency department at around 2 a.m.
The victim reported to authorities that the shooting took place on Norwood Street shortly before entering the hospital.
There were non-life threatening injuries reported.
Police are looking for a gray four door Chrysler with PA license plates. The vehicle reportedly has heavy front end damage according to reports.
