Newark Welcomes in 36 Police Officers, 34 Fire Recruits

City Officials and Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, Police Chief Anthony Campos, and Fire Chief John G. Centanni welcomed a new class of Fire Recruits and swore in a new class of Police Officers graduating from their training in a joint ceremony today, at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 106 Sussex Avenue, in Newark’s Central Ward.

The Police and Fire Departments are now united in the city’s the newly-created Department of Public Safety a city official said.

Director Ambrose discussed how police and fire training have changed to meet the City’s emphasis on bringing the police and community together to collaborate on reducing crime now that police and fire services are consolidated under the city’s new department of public safety.

Congratulation to Mr. B. Wadley (pictured) a life long resident of Newark, 2007 graduate of Arts High School and William Paterson University in Wayne.
