Police in Newark are looking into an overnight shooting that injured a person in the city's Central Ward.
According to police, reports of shots fired sent police to the vicinity of 440 Washington Street at approximately 1:45 a.m., where officers arrived to find evidence that someone fired off shots at that location.
Police say one person was later found suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and there were no other injuries reported.
