Newark Suspect Sought for Stealing Woman’s Purse Containing $600

Police in Newark request the public’s help identifying a suspect who took a woman’s purse containing $600 from a rental truck on May 14.

Authorities said officers responded to a call about the burglary, which occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the 400 block of Roseville Avenue.

According to Newark Police, the victim left her purse on the front seat of a U-Haul truck while moving her belongings into an apartment.

When she returned, the purse with her money and personal belongings was missing.

Police say the suspect was captured on video opening the truck’s passenger door, taking the purse, and fleeing northbound on Roseville Avenue.
