Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in a section of Newark on Monday afternoon.
At approximately 4:07 p.m., police were dispatched to the vicinity of 618 Springfield Avenue to investigate reports of shots fired.
Units arrived and found multiple shell casings at that location.
Officers canvassing the scene did not locate any victims, according to police.
Newark Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene photographers operated on the busy avenue.
The suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been reported.
