A shooting that caused injuries in Newark's South Ward is under investigation.
Officials at Newark Beth Israel Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the hospital suffering a gunshot would before 5 p.m.
The victim reported to police that he was shot in the area of Osborne Terrace and Eckert Street shortly before arriving at the hospital.
Police checked the area for a crime scene and possible suspects. The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
