Newark South Ward Shooting Hospitalizes Male

There were serious injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred in a Newark neighborhood late Friday night.

Gunfire erupted in the South Ward community of Clinton Place -the 300 block- at approximately 12:35 a.m. sending police to the scene where they arrived and requested EMS on a rush after finding the victim struck by bullets.

According to preliminary reports, police taped off the area as they secured the scene as they searched the neighborhood for other victims and evidence to support a motive.

EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where doctors began treating their injuries according to reports.

The shooter/s remain at-large, and there were no other injuries reported.
