Newark South Ward Shooting Caught on Surveillance Video; Police Search for Suspects

Suspects wanted in connection with a shooting in the area of Chancellor and Maple Avenues in late August has police in Newark seeking the public’s help identifying them.

According to police at approximately 6:20 p.m., cops responded to the location after receiving reports of shots fired.

Units arriving to the scene located a 19-year old male victim who was shot police said.

The victim was transported to University Hospital by EMS and is listed in stable condition.

Two other male victims arrived at Beth Israel Hospital and were both treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds police said.

"As part of our investigation, detectives have located a video of the shooting, which captures the suspects and their vehicles" authorities said.

While police are actively searching for the suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from city streets.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
