Three Newark businesses have been temporarily closed pending proper licensing by the owners.
Officials said, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Newark Police conducted store inspections along Lyons Avenue, Maple Avenue and Chancellor Avenue to inspect for code violations.
The following stores were temporarily closed due to violation(s):
• Brother Beauty Supply Store at 242 Lyons Avenue
• Texas Fried Chicken at 250 Lyons Avenue
• a medical office at 410 Chancellor Avenue
Code enforcement operations are among the Department of Public Safety’s ongoing initiatives developed in response to citizen complaints along business corridors.
As part of the initiative, businesses are inspected for code violations.
