Police searched the area of South 15th Street and Madison Avenue for a crime scene to support a motive for a shooting that had a person struck by gunfire early this morning in Newark.
At around 3:45 a.m., a male victim entered University Hospital's emergency department suffering a gunshot wound prompting officials to contact police according to reports.
The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
Newark Police will handle the investigation.
