Newark Resident, Paramus Catholic Football Standout Signs to UMass Minutemen

Newark

247sports.com reporter Mr. Mike Traini said as a high school junior Newark resident and Paramus Catholic football standout Mr. Javon Turner ran a 10.63 100m dash at Paramus Catholic, along with a 22.08 200m.

"Both of those times are the second-fastest in the school’s illustrious athletic history behind only current Cleveland Browns safety Jabrill Pepper," Reporter Mike Traini said.

Now, Turner will take his final two years of talent to The University of Massachusetts Minutemen football program where he will suit up -again- alongside his former high school quarterback Andrew Brito.

According to 247sports.com reporter Mike Traini, Turner committed to the Minutemen over an offer from the Morgan State Bears of the FCS.

"The New Jersey native Javon Turner, played at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pennsylvania where in two years was second on Lackawanna in 2018 with his 526 receiving yards from 23 catches with an average of 22.9 yards per catch.

Ten of those 23 catches went for touchdowns as well, and when you score almost half the time you touch the ball you’re doing something right, according to Mike Traini.
