Newark Police Seek the Public's Help in Locating Man Connected to Shooting

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Fatim Wingate, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on May 30.

Authorities say at approximately 9:10 p.m., on May 30, police responded to Willoughby Street, near Forest Place in Newark, on a call of a shooting.

Responding officers located two victims at University Hospital, who had been shot, and two more shooting victims at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Each of the victims - three men and a woman - were treated and released.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Fatim Wingate for questioning.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Fatim Wingate to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS(1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
