Newark Police Seek Public’s Help with Identifying Burglary Suspect

Newark Police seek the public’s help with identifying a suspect who is wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary that occurred in the city on August 12.

According to police, officers responded to a call about a burglary at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the Dunkin Donuts in the 300 block of Springfield Avenue.

Police report that the suspect, who is described as 6’0” and 160 pounds, was captured on surveillance video forcing his way into the business through the Drive-Thru window. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a dark cap. The cash drawer and juice bottles were taken.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s help so that he can be located.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information regarding the suspects to call the Department’s 24-hour Crime Stopper Tip Line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
