Newark Police Seek Public’s Assistance Identifying Persons of Interest in Shooting Incident

Newark authorities reported that Public Safety officials request the public’s assistance with identifying two persons of interest in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, August 6.

Authorities say, on Saturday, August 6, at approximately 2:45 a.m., police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North 5th St on a call for service for shots fired.

Responding officers located numerous spent shell casings on the scene, officials report. 

During the investigation, two male individuals were determined to be persons of interest.

According to officials, the first person is described as a male with a medium brown complexion and stocky build with facial hair.

Officials say, that he was observed on surveillance video wearing a light-colored hat, a light-colored short sleeve shirt with a dark-colored graphic design on the front, light-colored shorts, and light-colored sneakers. 

The second person is described as a male with a medium brown complexion, stocky build, dark hair, and dark facial hair.

According to authorities, he was observed on surveillance video wearing a short sleeve dark shirt. 

While police are actively searching for the two persons of interest, we seek the public’s assistance in identifying them.
