Newark Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Burgary at Dollar General

Newark Police request the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with a burglary that occurred at Dollar General, 420 Springfield Avenue, on Tuesday, April 26.

According to police, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Police responded to a call of a burglary in progress and observed the rear door of the business open and another door damaged. 

Police said that a suspect was observed on the store’s surveillance cameras breaking the glass to the cigarette case inside the store and stealing several boxes of cigarettes. 

According to police officials, he is described as a dark-skinned male, wearing a navy-blue NY Yankee’s fitted cap, light gray shirt, and blue stone-washed jeans.

Newark Police officials urge anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
