Newark Police Search for Man, Woman Connected to Robbery at Bar

Newark Police request the public’s help in identifying suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 1.

According to police, just after 1 a.m., a patron at a bar located at 304 University Avenue was robbed by a man and woman who he met while inside the bar. 

Police said that the victim stepped outside the bar to speak with the couple before being assaulted and lost consciousness. 

According to police officials, when the victim recovered, his wallet, containing cash, credit and debit cards, and his cell phone, were stolen.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects. 

Police said that the man is described as 5’9” tall and 150 pounds, with a dark complexion and full beard. He was wearing a blue jacket, jeans, white sneakers and a bandana. 

The woman is described as 5’2” tall and 130 pounds. She was wearing dark clothing and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
