Authorities in Essex County are on the search for a male suspect that pulled off a set of armed robberies leaving a person shot and seriously injured overnight.
The suspect was only described as a black male, wearing a black hoodie and armed with a "large weapon" who committed a violent robbery in the 600 block of Central Ave. around 1:45 a.m.
A male victim was rushed to University Hospital where he reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the back. The victim was listed in serious but stable condition. A second victim was taken to the hospital about an hour later after being seriously assaulted. It was not immediately clear if the second victim was involved in the earlier armed robbery.
The suspect reportedly fled in a dark colored vehicle possibly a Subaru.
NOTE: Another overnight armed robbery/shooting that occurred in Irvington has authorities looking for a similar suspect.
