Newark Police Officer Attacked During West Ward Domestic Dispute Call

Newark Police officials are reporting minor injuries for an officer attacked while answering a domestic violence call in the city's West Ward this evening.

According to a brief statement released by Newark Police officials, police were called to an address in the 50’s block of Oakland Terrace for a domestic dispute calls at around 7:20 p.m.

Police officials said upon officers arrival, the Newark cop was attacked by the complainant and the suspect.

The officer was transported to University Hospital where he suffered bite wounds according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
