Newark North Ward Shooting Leads to Property Damage

Newark Police are searching for a suspect involved in a Monday night shooting that resulted in property damage in the North Ward community.IrvingtonOfficers were called to the vicinity of 128 Ridge Street at around 10:05 p.m. following reports of shots being fired.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered several shell casings and noted that bullets had struck both a car and a house. An extensive search covering the vehicle, the house, and the surrounding neighborhood revealed no victims of the shooting.

The suspect, who had already fled the scene by the time police arrived, remains unidentified, and no arrests have been made thus far.

Police are investigating whether a person who arrived at Beth Israel Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries was a victim of the gunfire at the Ridge Street crime scene.

Authorities are now actively investigating the motive behind the shooting, seeking to understand the circumstances that led to this violent incident.

The Newark Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this case to come forward.
