Police detained a male suspect after a shooting sent one person to the hospital this evening in Newark.
Gunfire rang out in the 100 block of Delevan Avenue at around 10:30 pm sending police to the scene where they located a male victim struck to the leg by apparent gunfire.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in stable condition.
There are no official charges filed at this time.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
