Police Officials are reporting the arrest of Mr. Benny Rivera, 39, of Newark for an alleged auto burglary that occurred Saturday.
According to a statement released by Newark Police, at approximately 9:05 a.m., a concerned citizen flagged down a patrol car in the 300-block of Lake Street.
Police said the citizen observed a male break into a vehicle and rummaged its interior before the citizen reportedly held the suspect inside the car until officers arrived.
Officers arrived at the scene and placed Rivera in custody is charged with then charged him with burglary.
This charge is merely an accusation. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
