Newark Non-Profit Prepares Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Newark

NEWARK NJ (October 31, 2018) – On Thursday, November 22, The HUBB will host its tenth annual “Break Bread With You” Thanksgiving Day Dinner at Lincoln Park, Newark from 9:00 am to noon.

Officials say last year, with the help of more than 150 volunteers, the non-profit organization fed and cared for more than 350 guests including homeless men, women and children, low-income families, and other members of the community who lack the means to celebrate a traditional Thanksgiving.

Hosted by The HUBB’s Founder/CEO, Al-Tariq Best, Kyle Abercrombie, Celebrity Chef Dawn Tyson, and ten year old Doctor-In-Training Olivia Lake, the event includes a concert with an appearance from 10 years old motivational speaker/poet, Jolly Swag, and performances by Nikeo Music, Kiki Kia Stewart, Brother Hahz Ministries, Donjia Wilson, Pastor Dale Ciceron Next Level Living Word Ministries, Cynthia Tucker, Don Connor, Crystal Levell, and other notable artists.

With sponsorship support from organizations such as The YMCA of Newark, RZTheFlags, Newark Emergency Services for Families, Inc., Newark Ant-Violence Coalition, Integrity House, Newark Bronze Shields, She Wins, and the City of Newark, The HUBB will provide a nourishing Thanksgiving Dinner menu consisting of turkey, Candied Yams, Stuffing, and other tasty delicacies.

The community will come together and fellowship with each other on this special day. We are also in need of volunteers.

The event provides an opportunity for some of Newark’s most disadvantaged to have a wholesome, home-cooked meal in a loving environment. It sends a message of hope and encouragement at the time of year when it is most needed in a city where the homeless population is increasing.
