Newark Men Arrested for Clark Burglary, Vehicle Theft

Newark

Police in Clark arrested two individuals Friday, September 23rd, in connection with a residential burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

According to Clark Police, the arrests come after a Clark resident, living off of Stiles Street reported a BMW stolen from their driveway during the early morning of September 22.

An on-scene investigation revealed a suspect entered the front door and removed the car keys from a hook inside shortly after the resident returned home and hung them up.

Police said this allowed the thieves to steal the vehicle from the driveway.

After further investigation by Det. Ciaccio, a connection was made to the suspects after they were arrested by the Secaucus Police Department while possessing the stolen vehicle from Clark.

After a thorough investigation, Det. Cjaccio developed probable cause to charge two suspects.

According to Clark Police, arrested were Jashon King, 20, and Zaire Gaskins, 18, both of Newark.

The pair were charged with Receiving Stolen Property, a crime of the second degree and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, a crime of the third degree.

Both were committed to the Hudson County Jail pending a detention hearing, which will take place in Union County Superior Court early this week.
