Newark Police detectives are looking into a shooting incident that had a male arrive at a hospital in the city overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Newark Beth Israel Hospital after a male victim entered suffering gunshot wounds at approximately 11:45 p.m.
The victim reported to authorities that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Hawthorne Avenue and Clinton shortly before he made his way to the hospital.
Police search the area for a crime scene and other evidence to support a motive for the shooting
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening.
The investigation remains active.
