Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating a shooting that left two individuals injured Friday night.

Police were dispatched to the area of Orchard Street and Morris Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located multiple shell casings and what appeared to be blood at the scene.
The area was secured as detectives canvassed the neighborhood in search of victims and additional evidence.
While officers remained on scene, Newark police were alerted after two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at University Hospital seeking treatment.
The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
