Police checked a neighborhood in Newark for a crime scene after a gunshot victim entered a South Ward hospital struck by bullets.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., officials at the Newark Beth Israel Hospital notified police when a male victim entered the emergency room suffering gunshot wounds.
Police arrived at the hospital and were told that the shooting occurred in the vicinity of Littleton and 16th avenues.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening, according to police.
Police are looking into the motive for the shooting.
