Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a male in the city's South Ward Friday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, officials at Beth Israel Hospital contacted police when a male gunshot victim entered the emergency department around 6:30 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and were informed that bullets struck the victim in the 300 block of Osborne Terrace before arriving at the hospital.
Newark officers canvassed the South Ward neighborhood and found shell casings, but no other victims were found after a further search.
Police say the vehicle that transported the victim to Beth Israel was held for the investigation.
Authoritities reported non-life threatening injuries for the victims.
