A man found suffering two gunshot wounds to the back in Newark’s North Ward on Wednesday afternoon has police on the search for a suspect.
Police were called to the vicinity of 197 Summer Avenue after receiving reports of a man struck by gunfire at around 3:35 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers met with firefighters who found the injured male according to reports.
Newark Police officials say the man is in stable condition at the hospital.
The motive for the shootIng remains under investigation.
