Newark police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man and woman who were seen in the area of a shooting that occurred in the city last year.
According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the incident happened at approximately 2:33 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, when officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Warwick Street and the 200 block of New York Avenue.
Responding officers searched the area but did not locate any victims or property damage linked to the gunfire.
However, investigators recovered ballistics evidence in the area of Pulaski Street near New York Avenue, confirming that shots had been fired.

Detectives investigating the incident are seeking to identify a male and female who were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting and may have information relevant to the case.
Authorities said the male was wearing a Pagans Motorcycle Club sweater, and the pair were seen traveling in a black Mazda CX-4 or CX-5.
Director Miranda urges anyone who may recognize the individuals or know the whereabouts of the vehicle to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
