Newark Church Celebrates Water Baptisms for Dozens of Parishioners at Community Park

Newark

A Newark North Ward pastor baptized dozens of parishioners inside a Newark Park on last week.

According to church officials, Rev. Pablo Pizarro -lead Pastor of Lighthouse Assembly- officiated the public declaration of faith called baptism for 50 people in the community.

Pastor Pizarro said the beauty of this moment is that it is a first in the Essex County region.

"This is the first time that water baptisms have been held outdoors in the North Ward the city of Newark and Essex County," Pastor Pizzaro said.

The Baptisms took place at the Cherry Blossom Center in Branch Brook Park.

"This was a great opportunity to take the church outside of the four walls and into the community, many who attended pulled out their cameras and celebrated with the church," Pastor Pizzarro said.
