There were non-fatal injuries reported in a shots-fired incident that occurred in a section of Newark's Central Ward on Thursday evening.
Around 5:45 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Muhammad Ali Avenue and Quitman Street, where police arrived and found a person struck by gunfire.
Police say they set up a crime scene in the area where they found ballistics, but no suspects were found after a search of the neighborhood.
The victim's injuries have not been confirmed as a fatality as of 4:30 a.m. today.
Police are investigating a motive for the shooting.
