New Jersey Man Charged with Burglarizing 18 Vehicles

New Jersey

The New Jersey State Police have arrested Kenny Calverley, 30, of Dennis Township, N.J. for a string of car burglaries in Cumberland County.

According to State Police officials, in February 2018, troopers from Port Norris Station began investigating multiple car burglaries in Commercial Township.

Officials say through various investigative means, detectives were able to identify Calverly as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Detectives allege that Calverly stole money, credit cards, and other personal belongings from unlocked cars.

Police say on Thursday, May 23, troopers were notified that Calverly was arrested in Pennsylvania on an unrelated charge. He was subsequently extradited to New Jersey.

Kenny Calvery was charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and attempt and lodged at the Cumberland County Jail.

The common denominator in these burglaries were unlocked cars, so we would like to remind everyone to lock and remove valuable items from vehicles parked outside. Don’t make it easy for car burglars!

Charges are mere accusations and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
