Police in Newark are attempting to piece together the motive for separate shootings that injured as many as four victims in the city overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police investigated shootings in the 50's block of Eagles Parkway in the Central Ward and a second shooting incident in the area of 18th Avenue and Alexander Street in Newark's West Ward just before 10 p.m.
Police say some of the victims were transported by private vehicles to University Hospital and police assisted one person suffering serious injuries after someone shot him in the leg at the Alexander Street crime scene.
There were no reports of fatalities at this time.
