A violent crash that occurred on a highway in Union County sent one person to the hospital Wednesday evening.
According to preliminary reports, the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. near Scotchwood Diner - located on the 1900 block of Rt. 22 - where police found thee vehicles involved in a collision at that location.
Officials say one of the vehicles overturned causing Scotch Plains Police to close the roadway to traffic, leaving massive delays in the area.
Emergency crews transported at least one person to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Scotch Plains Police.
