Four people have been sent to the hospital as a result of the multi-vehicle crash this morning in Mountainside, police announced.
Police responded to the intersection of New Providence Road and Mountain Avenue for a report of a five vehicle crash sometime after 9 a.m.
A total of 4 people were injured. One was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital another to Overlook Hospital and the two others refused medical attention.
According to police three of the five vehicles involved were toed from the scene.
An investigation into the accident closed the area roads until shortly after 10 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
One of the drivers was issued two motor vehicle violations for careless driving and failure to obey a traffic control device.
