Mount Royal Man Sentenced to Seven Years for Gas Station Robbery

Mount Royal

A judge sentenced a Gloucester County man for robbing a Woodbury gas station back in 2017.

Officials say Michael J. Ficara 34, of Mt. Royal NJ, was sentenced Friday to seven years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to second-degree robbery of a service station attendant in Woodbury on August of 2017.

According to officials, in the incident at a Conoco station on Mantua Ave., $100 was taken from the attendant by a masked individual who displayed a handgun.

An investigation by the Woodbury Police Department identified a car in which the robber left the scene. The vehicle was subsequently seen at the defendant’s residence officials said.

Police took Ficara into custody after a motor vehicle stop on August 11, 2017, according to police.

Ficara pled guilty to the charge in April as a result of negotiations with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith sentenced him according to officials.
