Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of Crystalann Clarke 35, of Bergenfield, on charges of Child Abuse and Hindering Apprehension; and Patel Whyte, 35, of Hackensack on a charge of Hindering Apprehension.
Police say on Sunday, November 10, the Hackensack Police Department received information that a juvenile had been physically assaulted by Clark in Hackensack.
Police say as a result of the assault, the juvenile received multiple stitches to the face.
The Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, and the resulting investigation revealed that Clarke and her boyfriend Whyte instructed the juvenile to lie about how the injuries were sustained to protect Clarke from being investigated for child abuse.
