School officials confirm that after unacceptable mold levels were discovered in the school’s art room, the classroom will be closed indefinitely.
Officials say that as the art teacher was setting up the classroom, the teacher noticed spots on furniture and various surfaces around the room. After various air tests were performed in multiple areas of the school, only the art room came back with elevated mold levels.
According to the district, officials will evaluate the room and ultimately determine whether or not to continue using the space or to relocate the art classes which for now will be held in the photography room.
No immediate information was provided as to exactly how much mold was found or as to how much it will cost to remediate the problem.
