There were life-threatening injuries for the victim of a shooting that occurred in New Brunswick of Friday evening.
According to preliminary reports, detectives taped off the single digit block of Van Dyke Avenue just before 8 p.m. after they found a person laying on the ground suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the back.
EMS rushed the unconscious and unresponsive male to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center where officials would only confirm life-threatening injuries at this time.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
