Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of Mr. Carlos Caballero, 47, and Luis Pena, 29, both of 9 Marshall Street, Worcester, MA, on charges of unlawful possession of weapons, ammunition and drugs, and money laundering.
These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
Officials say on Wednesday, February 19, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop in Ridgefield Park on a black 2004 Honda Pilot.
A search of the vehicle revealed an electronically operated hidden compartment containing $48,803.00, 2 loaded semi-automatic handguns, 100 pills of suspected fentanyl, and one bag of suspected marijuana under 50 grams.
Police say the driver, Caballero, and front-seat passenger, Pena, were both placed under arrest.
The incident remains under investigation.
