Manville Narcotic Investigation Leads to Seizure of Taser, Heroin, Over $5K in Cash

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Manville Borough Chief of Police Mark Peltack announced the arrest of Charles Gordon, 56, of Manville.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that as a result of a narcotics investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Gordon’s residence. Detectives on September 27th at approximately 8:30 p.m. executed the search warrant, where they seized 221 bags of heroin, a black Thunder Power Taser, packaging material (empty baggies, a heroin stamper, two scales, and rubber bands), and $5,066.00 in U.S. currency from the residence.

Police charged Gordon with possession of CDS (Heroin) with the intent to distribute, 3rd degree, possession of a weapon, 4th degree, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, 2nd degree, and Possession of drug paraphernalia a disorderly person offense.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $1,500.00.

A judge sent Gordon to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

These charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
