Man Wanted for Double Shooting in Newark's South Ward

A warrant has been issued for 20-year-old Newark resident, William E. Reese in connection with two Aggravated Assault shootings on August 23, 2016 at 22 Fabyan Place in Newark.

Police said in a press release that at approximately 2:25 a.m., Newark Police responded to a shots fired call at the location, where they encountered a 17-year old male victim who had been shot.

The victim was transported by EMS to University Hospital for treatment authorities said.

Officers were also notified that a second 17-year old male victim had arrived at Beth Israel Hospital with a gunshot wound.

After an intense investigation, detectives developed evidence that William E. Reese is a suspect in this double shooting. Bail for Reese has been set at $100,000.00 police said.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, police seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.

These are mere accusations lodged against Reese. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law when he is captured or surrenders to authorities.
