Man Wanted for Breaking into Parked Cars in Newark’s North Ward

Police in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Alberto Cortegoso, 51, of Kearny, in connection with an auto burglary that occurred in the overnight hours of October 21, 2019.

According to police, the victim reported that a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Highland Avenue was broken into and personal property and cash were stolen.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Alberto Cortegoso as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

Police sad Cortegoso is described as 5’8” tall and 185 pounds. He has a light complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.
