Man Wanted for Allegedly Cutting his Girfriend in Newark

Newark Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Robert Lee, 31, of Newark, who they say is wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred, Friday, April 6th.

According to a statement released by Newark public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, police responded to a South Ward residence on a call of an aggravated assault.

Director Ambrose said units arrived at the scene and found the victim, identified as the suspect’s girlfriend, suffering a cut injury at that location.

The victim and the suspect reportedly engaged in an argument before the attack occurred director Ambrose said.

Detectives from the Special Victims Section investigating the incident secured a warrant for Lee’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an illegal purpose according to Director Ambrose.

While police are actively searching for Lee, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from Newark streets.
